ESPN names Perfect Game as there leading Authority on Amateur Baseball.

ESPN and Perfect Game agree to an alliance that could have a large impact on amateur baseball.

Cedar Rapids IA—“Perfect Game’s association with ESPN will help us continue our mission of promoting baseball at all levels”, said PG president Jerry Ford. Amateur baseball will benefit greatly, which is a major goal of both ESPN and Perfect Game. ESPN and PG share a desire to help young people fall in love with the game of baseball. Creating baseball fans is just as important as creating baseball players at all the grass roots level. We are very honored and excited to team up with ESPN, Ford said, there is no one who has a bigger impact on baseball or sports in general.”

In 2006 952 MLB draft picks, including 38 of the 44 players selected in the first round and supplemental first round, attended PG events. Over the past five years well over 3,000 players who attended PG events have been drafted by Major League organizations. The teams that played in the past three NCAA College World Series telecast by ESPN, included over 400 players who attended a PG event as a high school player. It has been estimated that by year 2009 more then half of all those on Major League rosters will have played in a perfect game event.
