Bellefonte Baseball 2011 Tournament Schedule

Bellefonte Baseball will be hosting one Spring High School Junior Varsity baseball tournament and six summer tournaments. The first summer tournaments will be the Memorial Day Weekend, Wood Bat Championship IV, for 14U teams, May 28-30 (Saturday, Sunday, Monday). On Monday May 30 the championship game will be played on Medler Field at Lubrano Park on the Penn State Campus.

Followed by the Maryland Open Wood Bat Championship II, for 19U teams. The host field will be Shipley field on the campus of the University of Maryland, June 17-19.

The third tournament our Pennsylvania Open Wood Bat Championship XXIX, for 16U & 19U teams, June 24-26. This year again play will be suspended Friday June 25th after the 3:00 O’clock scheduled games to allow teams to attend the State College Spikes game (Pittsburgh Pirates, New York - Penn League team) at Medler Field at Lubrano Park. Then on Sunday June 27th the championship game for the 19U teams only will be played at Medler Field at Lubrano Park on the Penn State campus. Bellefonte Baseball will again be making a contribution to Coaches Vs. Cancer prior to the game.

On Monday June 27th Perfect Game USA will host their Sixth Pennsylvania State Showcase at Governors Park in Bellefonte Pa.

The fourth event will be the July 4th Fest Open Wood Bat Championship V, for 16U teams July 1-3. On Sunday July 3rd the championship game will be played at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The final two events of our summer series of tournaments will be the Bellefonte Baseball Open Wood Bat Showdown II, for 15U teams, July 22-24 and the Bellefonte Baseball Open Wood Bat Showdown II, for 14U teams August 5-7.

On Friday July 22 and August 5 each team will play a four o’clock game, then will be the guest of the State College Spikes for a 7:05 New York Penn League minor league game.

The spring schedule will include one tournament, the Bellefonte Baseball High School Junior Varsity II tournament Saturday May 7.

The six summer tournaments will be run with the same format, round robin play with each team playing four games except for the July 22-24 and August 5-7 tournaments where each team will play three games (weather permitting) with a championship round for the qualifying teams. The championship round participants could very depending on the number of teams entered in that particular division and will be communicated to the teams prior to the start of each tournament. The spring tournaments will be a two game round robin one-day tournament with no championship round.


Tournament Entry Fees

The entry fee for the Memorial Day weekend Wood Bat Championship, Maryland Open Wood Bat Championship, Pennsylvania Open Wood Bat Championship, July 4th Fest Open Wood Bat Championship will be $650.00. The fee for the Bellefonte Baseball Open Wood Bat 14U Showdown Tournaments and the Bellefonte Baseball Open Wood Bat 15U Showdown Tournament will be $500.00. The fee for the spring Bellefonte Baseball High School Junior Varsity tournament will be $200.00.

All entry fees for summer tournaments will be due by May 1st. A non-refundable $100.00 deposit will hold your spot until June 1st. A $100.00 late fee will be assessed to any fee paid after the tournament schedule has been completed. You can reserve your spot in any of Bellefonte Baseball tournaments by going to the Tournaments web site: www.bellefontebaseball.com and completing the tournament application and remitting your entry fee. No team will be entered into the tournament until fee is paid in full.

Bellefonte Baseball will be purchasing about eight hundred tickets that can be used for the State College Spikes games on June 24th, July 22nd and August 5th, You must call the number for the Spikes ticket office which can be found on the Bellefonte Baseball web site and reserve as many tickets as you team might need. All other tickets will be available to the remaining tournament teams on a first come first serve basis.
