Bellefonte Baseball 2010 Summer and Fall Tournament Schedule

Bellefonte Baseball will be sponsoring seven baseball tournaments in 2010, one Spring High School Junior Varsity tournament four summer tournaments and two fall tournaments. Plus the inaugural Summer Challenge Series for 16U & 14U teams. The first of four wood bat summer tournaments of this year will be our third Memorial Weekend, (14U Aluminum bat), 16U tournament May 29-31 (Saturday, Sunday, Monday). Our Memorial Day tournament will be followed by our first University of Maryland Wood Bat Open, 18U tournament June 18-20. This tournament will have a twelve-team limit with the first six paid teams playing two of their four round robin games (weather Permitting) at the host site for this tournament Shipley Field on the campus of the University of Maryland. The third tournament of the summer will be our Bellefonte Showdown XXVIII, (14U Aluminum bat), 16U & 19U tournament June 25-27. This year Play will be suspended Friday June 25th after the 3:00 O’clock scheduled games to allow teams to attend the SHOWDOWN at the State College Spikes night (Pittsburgh Pirates, New York - Penn League team) at Medler Field at Lubrano Park. This night will also be fireworks night. Then on Sunday June 27th the championship game of both the 16U and 19U will be played at Medler Field at Lubrano Park on the Penn State campus. Bellefonte Baseball will also make a contribution to a local charity from a portion of the proceeds from this tournament. On Monday June 28th Perfect Game USA will host their fifth Pennsylvania State Showcase at Governors Park in Bellefonte Pa. The fourth and final event of the summer will be our fifth, July 4th Fest,  14U, 16U & 19U tournament July 2-4 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). This tournament will have a twelve-team limit. On Monday July 5th the championship game will be played at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. As in the past, play will be suspended Sunday July 4th after the 3:00 O’clock scheduled games. This will allow teams time to visit the third best fire works show and celebration in the United States which will be held on the Penn State Campus.

The spring and fall schedule will include one spring tournament, our first Pennsylvania Open High School Junior Varsity Aluminum Bat tournament May 1, and two fall wood bat tournaments the first fall tournament will be our third Kickoff tournament September 11-12, followed by our third Oktoberfest tournament October 2-3.

All four summer tournaments will be run with the same format, round robin play with each team playing four games (weather permitting) with a championship round for the qualifying teams. The spring tournaments will be a two game round robin one-day tournament with no championship round. The fall tournaments will be a three game round robin tournament with no championship game.

The entry fee for all non-qualifying summer tournaments will be $625.00 and $725.00 for all national qualifying tournaments. The fee for the spring High School Junior Varsity tournament will be $200.00 and the fee for the fall tournaments will be $250.00 The entry fee for the three Bellefonte baseball Pennsylvania summer tournaments will includes fifteen general admissions tickets to see the State College Spikes play. All entry fees for summer tournaments will be due by May 1st. A non-refundable $100.00 deposit will hold your spot until June 1st. A $100.00 late fee will be assessed to any fee paid after the tournament schedule has been completed. You can reserve your spot in any of Bellefonte Baseball tournaments by going to the Tournaments web site: www.bellefontebaseball.com and completing the tournament application with a roster when final and remitting your entry fee. No team will be entered into the tournament until fee is paid in full.
